SNAKE REMOVAL & CONTROL

Central Texas is home to dozens of snake species — some harmless, some dangerous. We identify, safely remove, and help keep them off your property for good.

COMMON SNAKES IN CENTRAL TEXAS

Knowing what you're dealing with matters. Texas has four venomous species you need to take seriously — and many non-venomous species that are actually beneficial. Don't try to identify or handle them yourself.

Venomous

COPPERHEAD

The most commonly encountered venomous snake in Central Texas. Tan and brown hourglass banding. Found near rocky terrain, wood piles, and landscaping. Bites are painful but rarely fatal — seek medical attention immediately.

WESTERN DIAMONDBACK RATTLESNAKE

The largest venomous snake in Texas and the most responsible for serious bites statewide. Diamond-patterned scales, heat-sensing pits, and a distinctive rattle. Found in dry, open terrain and rocky areas.

WATER MOCCASIN (COTTONMOUTH)

Found near bodies of water — ponds, creeks, and drainage areas. Dark olive to black body, white interior mouth. Aggressive when cornered. Do not approach any thick-bodied snake near water.

CORAL SNAKE

Red touches yellow, kill a fellow. Bright red, yellow, and black banding. Smaller and more reclusive than other venomous species, but produces a powerful neurotoxin. Remember: "red on black, friend of Jack" does not apply to Texas corals.

Non-Venomous

RAT SNAKE

One of the most common snakes in Texas. Large, dark-colored, and excellent climbers — often found in attics. They eat rodents and are beneficial, but still unwelcome indoors.

GARTER SNAKE

Thin, striped, and often found in gardens and near water. Completely harmless and good for controlling insects and small rodents. Often misidentified as copperheads.

BULL SNAKE / GOPHER SNAKE

Large and intimidating — they hiss loudly and vibrate their tails, mimicking rattlesnakes. Completely non-venomous and valuable rodent hunters. Often found in open fields and around structures.

Important: Never attempt to handle, kill, or relocate a snake yourself — especially one you cannot positively identify as non-venomous. Most snake bites happen when people try to handle or kill them. Call us at (512) 229-5001 and keep your distance.

OUR SNAKE REMOVAL PROCESS

Safe, professional, and thorough. We don't just remove the snake you see — we address the conditions that attracted it in the first place.

Step 1

SAFE CAPTURE

Our technicians use proper equipment and trained technique to safely capture and secure the snake. Venomous species receive priority same-day response. No harm comes to the snake in the process.

Step 2

SPECIES IDENTIFICATION

We identify the species, assess the risk level, and walk you through what we found. Knowing whether it's venomous or non-venomous determines the urgency and approach.

Step 3

RELOCATION

Captured snakes are relocated to appropriate natural habitat well away from residential areas. We comply with Texas wildlife regulations on handling and relocation.

Step 4

HABITAT MODIFICATION & EXCLUSION

We inspect your property for the conditions attracting snakes — rodent activity, debris, dense vegetation, gaps in your foundation, and water sources. We seal entry points and recommend modifications to make your yard less inviting.

SIGNS OF SNAKES ON YOUR PROPERTY

Snakes are secretive. You might have a problem long before you ever see one. Watch for these warning signs.

Shed snake skins — look for translucent, papery skins near foundations, under rocks, or in crawlspaces
Slither tracks in soft soil, sand, or dusty areas near the perimeter of your home
Seeing snakes repeatedly near entry points, under doors, or around the foundation
Gaps or holes in your foundation, siding, or crawlspace vents that snakes could use to enter
High rodent activity — where there's a food source, snakes follow
Disturbed mulch, rock piles, or wood stacks along fences and fence lines

SNAKE PREVENTION TIPS

The best snake control is making your property unattractive to them. Snakes come for food, water, and shelter — remove those and they move on.

YARD MAINTENANCE

Keep grass mowed short, especially along fence lines and near the foundation. Overgrown grass gives snakes cover to move undetected and hunt rodents.

REMOVE DEBRIS & WOOD PILES

Stacked firewood, brush piles, old lumber, and rock piles are prime snake habitat. Store wood elevated off the ground and away from the house. Clear brush and leaf litter regularly.

SEAL GAPS & ENTRY POINTS

Seal cracks in your foundation, gaps around pipes, crawlspace vents, and spaces under doors. A snake can squeeze through a gap the size of a pencil. If you're unsure, we can inspect.

CONTROL RODENTS

Snakes follow their food source. If you have a rodent problem, snakes will find it. Rodent control is one of the most effective long-term snake deterrents.

ELIMINATE STANDING WATER

Snakes drink and hunt near water sources. Eliminate standing water, fix leaky faucets, and maintain proper drainage around your foundation.

SNAKE-PROOF FENCING

For high-risk areas or recurring problems, we can advise on specialized snake fencing. Fine-mesh hardware cloth installed correctly around the perimeter is highly effective.
