TERMITE CONTROL IN AUSTIN

Austin's warm climate and expansive clay soil make it one of the most termite-active regions in Texas. Subterranean termites thrive here — and most homeowners don't know they have them until the damage is already done. Free inspections, proven treatments, and ongoing protection.

WHY AUSTIN HOMES ARE AT RISK

CLAY SOIL

Austin's heavy clay soil retains moisture — exactly the environment subterranean termites need to build their underground colonies and reach your home's foundation.

WARM CLIMATE

Central Texas rarely gets cold enough to slow termite activity. Unlike northern states, Austin termite colonies stay active nearly year-round, giving them more time to cause damage.

OLDER HOMES

Central Austin neighborhoods like East Austin, South Austin, and Hyde Park are full of older wood-frame homes with pier-and-beam foundations — prime targets for subterranean and drywood termites.

NEW CONSTRUCTION

The booming suburbs — Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Georgetown, and beyond — have disturbed soil from construction that attracts displaced termite colonies looking for a new food source.

TERMITE SPECIES IN AUSTIN

Subterranean Termites

By far the most common in Austin and Travis County. They live underground in large colonies and build mud tubes up foundation walls to reach wood — often going undetected for years.

Formosan Termites

An aggressive subterranean species that has spread into the Austin area. Formosan colonies are much larger and can cause serious structural damage in a fraction of the time.

Drywood Termites

Found in attics, window frames, and furniture throughout Central Austin. They don't need soil contact and are often spread by infested wood or used furniture.

TERMITE TREATMENT OPTIONS

Every Austin home is different. Pier-and-beam bungalows in South Austin have different vulnerabilities than new slab-on-grade builds in Pflugerville. We'll recommend the right treatment — not the most expensive one.

Prevention

LIQUID BARRIER

Termiticide applied around and beneath your home's foundation creates a continuous barrier in the soil. Foraging termites pass through it, carry it back to the colony, and the entire colony is eliminated. Highly effective for Austin's subterranean termite pressure.

Monitoring

BAIT STATIONS

In-ground stations placed around your property intercept termites before they reach your home. Termites take the bait back to the colony and eliminate it from the inside out. Checked and serviced quarterly.

Active Infestation

DIRECT TREATMENT

For active infestations — targeted termiticide injection into galleries, foam application into wall voids, and spot treatments where termites are actively feeding. Often combined with a liquid barrier to prevent reinfestation.

WARNING SIGNS TO WATCH FOR

Termites are rarely spotted directly — but they leave clues. If you notice any of these in your Austin home, call for a free inspection before the damage gets worse.

Mud tubes on foundation walls, piers, or exterior masonry
Hollow-sounding wood when knocked or tapped
Discarded wings near windows, doors, or light fixtures
Bubbling or peeling paint that resembles water damage
Sagging floors, warped door frames, or doors that stick
Frass (small wood-colored pellets) near baseboards or trim
Swarmers — winged termites — appearing in spring or fall
Visible damage inside crawlspaces or under pier-and-beam homes
